Staying In Until The All-Clear

I don’t believe we’re doing enough to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Where I work I hear clients of all ages coughing and sneezing, they’re clearly unwell. You’re supposed to keep a distance of 3 feet from people, yet the serving area becomes packed and you have to squeeze to get around people. Wouldn’t it make sense to temporarily stop the buffet during the pandemic?
I am staying at home except to work and buy groceries. I have been on nature walks, but encounter few people and we’re 3 feet apart. Maybe I should stay indoors though for the time being, enjoy the sunshine from my balcony?
I’ve overheard conversations in passing about how all of the grocery stores have empty shelves and there have been long lines. I haven’t been to a store since Tuesday where only the cold medicine and tissue shelves were mostly empty, but it was otherwise like any other day.
I see how everything’s been unfolding in other countries and think to myself, why aren’t we on full lockdown now? It’s spreading, why wait?
I can’t help but be concerned about everyone and wish we could lessen the severity of it by any means possible.
I can’t help but feel the pain of the medical personnel who have to triage when there’s no room or resources enough to treat everyone. Where they’re overwhelmed and overburdened, not being able to keep up, how stressful, sad, the powerlessness of it all. I don’t want to contribute to that. So I’m staying home as much as I can.
We can be contagious and not know it so it’s best to avoid contact to help save more lives.
So I’m locking myself down until the all-clear.
If I could work from home I would.
Sending all of my love out to everyone impacted from this pandemic.
Hoping it doesn’t get as bad as the worst-case scenario, please ?
Love and hugs y’all ?
