Cup O’ Tea

The Logical Heart Knows Best

It’s so nice to give yourself permission to disengage, let go, and release what is no longer serving you. You feel lighter, freer, expectant, and tingly because another door is opening for you. It’s like standing at the edge of a cliff over the ocean with your arms outstretched ready to fly. The world is at your feet, the slate wiped clean and you begin anew from a loftier height.

What’s next your soul whispers and you check in with your reliable compass, the logical heart. Just be for a minute here, relax, take it easy, chill and it will come to you unbidden, the next right thing. Take care of you, meander, and love-up on yourself, then you will hear the answer to what’s next.

Sleep in, eat luscious fruit on the balcony, take a long hot bath with a book, a hot cup o’ tea and take luxurious naps, veg out to Netflix, video chat with your loved ones, listen to music, draw, play guitar, sing softly, blow bubbles, do whatever brings you the most joy whenever you want, there’s no one to answer to but yourself. Ah, you needed this vacation. Your logical heart was missing you, now you’re tuned up and in sync again. A blanket of peace envelopes you with a dense layer of smoldering love, you are safe, you are home, you are loved, you are free. I am me again, I’ve missed you me!

No more pressure, no more routines, no more schedules, no more expectations, just you and whatever your heart’s desire calls you to…ahhhh.

I just want to sink here in the coziness and watch the sunbeams tickle the flowers, the wind flirt with the shimmering leaves, the swifts rocketing into blue. White puffs of cloud hovering casting looming shadows over the distant tree-studded foothills, the sun shooting undulating rays piercing through the clouds striking the shadows below. I want to capture this moment cup it in my hands and imbibe it into my essence. I want to slay the intruder that prods me to get up and be busy, to fill my time with excessive activities that make me feel like I’m going somewhere that is in truth, nowhere. Maybe this moment will save me, so I drink deeply.

The wind shifts, I head in a new direction, try something new just to see. The old wasn’t working, all tattered and worn, step into something that’s crisp and lovely. Remember when you were little, so wee, how the best thing ever was to climb a sturdy tree. The most fascinating times spent gazing at bugs, frogs, and bumblebees. How about we try what worked long ago, eeny meeny miny moe. Catch that willowisp, catch it by the tail, maybe then finally you’ll be free from this jail. Seven, eight, nine, ten and you are not it!

Now the night has fallen, the moon sings a lullaby as you take inventory watching the sheep floating by. How many candies do I have left, will they last till I take my last breath? Dreams of treats and goodies buzz in your head as your eyes flutter shut with sleep so sweet, dazzling deep. Your breaths grow long and heavy, the owls on guard, sheltering sighs surround you, why is it so hard? The coming and going, the merry go round. Wild horses galloping into your bed, you awake with a shudder, it was only a dream you said.

Where am I now, on top of this hill, where shall I tumble, I don’t wanna be a Jill. Eeny meeny miny moe, catch a willowisp by the tail, maybe now I’ll get to sail.

Night night, sweet dreams and don’t let the bed bugs bite!
