On the Horizon

The Logical Heart Knows Best

I got so absorbed in researching on how to build a course on WordPress, hours flew by, I was in mad scientist mode. I forget to take breaks to walk around. It isn’t until I have to pee that I tear myself away. I like learning how to create things on the computer. There’s so much to learn, I love learning new things.

I was excited to get my e-reader today! I checked out my first books on Overdrive, The Handmaid’s Tale, and The Giver. Now I have books in every format, I am ready for the winter, I’ll be all curled up with loads of books and games on the Switch. I played Animal Crossing yesterday, it’s so adorable. I caught some creatures, picked up wood, branches, weeds, pears, made a new net, and bought some medicine for when I get stung too, lol. My tent is getting full of items, I wonder when I’ll get a house?

The air quality was moderate today so I spent time on the balcony, it was lovely. Maybe I’ll get to visit a park this week, that would be so wonderful. I’m used to spending a lot of time outdoors, so this year has been confining as it has been in various ways for most of us.

I was so happy to find some vegan hot cocoa at the grocery store tonight too. Now I’m really ready for the cooler weather. I got pumpkin spice flavored and caramel flavored cocoa, what a treat. I hope it’s yummy!

Now I’m fantasizing about going for a long walk. I hope the air quality stays reasonable this week, I need to have some more outside in nature time. When I choose a photo for my blog posts it makes me miss my nature walks, but at least I can live vicariously by admiring the photos which trigger memories so I’m reliving it in my mind.

We watched The Vow and Lovecraft Country last night, both are fascinating. It’s so wild how we can be manipulated, coerced, exploited, and brainwashed like in The Vow. And what fantastic imaginations the creators of Lovecraft Country have along with the intertwining explorations of heavier themes. I love how when you think there’s no way to come up with something innovative and evocative when you think it’s all been done before, there’s always something unique and thought-provoking that astonishes you. It’s amazing.

I love watching older films where the special effects are now comical and then compare them to now, it’s astounding. I do love a campy horror or monster flick, Godzilla vs Hedorah is a favorite, lol. I love how technology keeps progressing and improving. It seems like there have been exponential improvements in recent history. It gives me hope that maybe that can happen in creating ways to save the environment too.

I’m so thankful for all of the brilliant people who are creating, sharing, and enriching us all. I feel so fortunate and am eager to be surprised by the next innovative astonishing creations on the horizon. Teleportation would be nice, lmao. Well, we have video calls (Zoom) like in 1970’s Star Trek, plus communicators (cell phones) so maybe someone will invent teleportation, a transporter too, heh. I think I read about an experiment where they transported particles, it’s a start, lol.

It’s super fun trying to imagine the progress that will be made over the next century after the environment is saved. Anything can happen. I’m hoping for the best. There are so many brilliant minds and billionaires who could help fund solutions, it seems that would make it more likely for miracles to happen, right?
