Dormancy

It’s so silly, the closer I’m getting to completing this blogging every day for a year challenge, the more difficult it’s becoming to think of something to write about. I don’t know if it’s that or if it’s being stuck indoors so much. It feels like a perpetual morning where I’m just waking up, all sluggish and fuzzy-headed. I’d love to go for a walk, but I’m sidelined again for now, until my body is more agreeable. My immune system is protesting strenuous activities again since getting the flu shot.
I finished listening to three more books while doing double the prescribed sets of vestibular exercises. I think it’s working, there’s been an improvement in the wobbles (MdDS). I hope it sticks. I am determined to make it go away.
I googled blog post ideas and looked at a list of 150 ideas, meh. Nothing caught my fancy. There was a suggestion to share your bucket list. All I can wish for is to make it through this pandemic first, and then I’ll think of a bucket list. Right now, I am focused on my health and coping day by day. All the suggestions for blog posts seemed trivial to me. I have the same response when I read article headlines on my news app like the ones on BuzzFeed. The heaviness and uncertainty of the pandemic and its fallout is a wet blanket. For now, I’m content to bide my time by being grateful for our health, a roof over our heads, and food in our bellies. Everything else is lagniappe at this point.
I’ve enjoyed listening to fiction. It’s been forever since I’ve used my imagination to make up a story. I used to tell the kids stories I made up on the spot. I used to write fiction for school assignments too. I remember loving to write Haikus in elementary school. Now that storyteller has become dormant within me. Maybe listening to fiction will stir it all up again.
Someone asked me how to set up a website today. It’s really easy. All you have to do is purchase web hosting, I have SiteGround and then choose a domain name, then set up your site, I used WordPress.org where there are free themes to choose from though I ended up purchasing a theme. You can google how to create a website and there are free instructions that tell you step by step what to do. If you want to experiment, then there are free platforms like WordPress.com and others. It’s fun!
We get to grocery shop tomorrow, yay! That’s what I have to look forward to, our weekly outing. On this trip we get to shop for a board game too, woot. This excites me, lol.
Welp, nothing else is coming to my fingertips to type, so blog post completed. Twenty-five more days left.
