Embracing Aging

The Logical Heart Knows Best

I’m sharing what I’m working on in this video. I read Show Your Work by Austin Kleon recently and aim to show my work more often.

I’m also building the courage to show more of my true self while embracing getting older. I’ve had a love, hate relationship with makeup and the societal pressure to stay youthful and attractive. I am not this body, and our worthiness does not depend on what we look like or what our bodies can do. We are all inherently worthy and valuable, no matter what. We are souls, spirit. We are the energy of LOVE.

Justine Bateman has inspired me to go barefaced more often and to let my age show without giving a damn about it. I can look however I want to.

During the pandemic, I’ve rarely worn makeup, and it’s been so nice. Now when I wear makeup, it looks weird to me. I’ve always wished women could enjoy the same freedom as men whose physical appearance is not as harshly judged by society and are not so objectified and hypersexualized as women are. I’d love to see things change to where people can be who they are and be free to express themselves without fear of objectification, predation, attack, judgement, condemnation and violence from others.

Anyhow, here’s me, makeup free and feeling liberated.
