Ways I Approach Life Differently

The Logical Heart Knows Best

I believe we rely too much on our achievements and accomplishments to bolster our identities while conforming and people-pleasing. This focus on positivity, productivity, individualism, meritocracy, ignoring our true feelings, denying the toll on our mental and physical health while powering through is damaging, leading to self-sabotage.

What I’ve found is it’s vital to honor your emotions and the wisdom of your body. We need to be gentler and kinder with ourselves.

We can still honor our truths, take time out to feel, process, and release our emotions while continuing on with our lives. There is a tendency to bypass and deny the reality of the pain we go through. Our emotions are there to help us if we investigate and use them wisely. They point to areas that need attention in our lives.

I also believe in self-protective boundaries that may include tough choices such as limiting harmful relationships in our lives and prioritizing our own wellbeing. We must stop making excuses for harmful behavior and putting up with it. Going no contact can be a life-saving decision and is a perfectly healthy choice. Our own health, joy, freedom, and peace are just as important as anyone else’s. ♡
