Small Things Big Impact
I’ve been thinking about things that have caused me to change my life. Watching a TV show doesn’t seem to be a very impactful and significant way to create change, does it? Well, in my case, watching Oprah led me to question many things in my life and opened my eyes to the insidious ways society manipulates and controls us. I am inspired by Oprah. Watching her show helped me find resources to educate myself. Before the internet, I’d have to know beforehand what I was looking for when I went to the library. Watching shows like Oprah informed me of subjects I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise, like emotional, psychological, and verbal abuse. I’d see things I was interested in on Oprah and then would do research to learn more. It empowered me to make changes that were loving to me and helped me stand up for myself. Oprah shared her experience and tackled some tough topics with experts, and it really helped me more than I thought was possible from watching a talk show. You never know who you will help by sharing your story and following your path with a heart. ♡
