The Logical Heart Knows Best

Science fiction and fantasy have always been a favorite of mine, ever since I read The Wonderful Flight to Mushroom Planet in elementary school. I also watched Star Trek as a child in the seventies and then as an adult, I enjoyed Star Trek the Next Generation. I’m also a fan of Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and so many others. Our uncle Michi took us to see the first Star Wars movie. He’d memorized every line, so impressive! We had so much fun with uncle Michi and our California relatives. My grandmother and Michi would treat us to goodies, and take us to movies, amusement parks, roller skating, swimming, parks, and festivals. We were so spoiled there and were free to be kids, with no pressures or worries. I’m so thankful for that and I think of uncle Michi and my little brother Josh (who are no longer with us) when I see Star Wars stuff. It warms my heart and I remember them with a bittersweet smile and miss them, yet am grateful for the time we had together. ♡
