The Logical Heart Knows Best

I’m so grateful I got to enjoy a visit with the kids recently. It was so wonderful to hug them and bask in their presence. We went to Meow Wolf! I was more active, and it felt amazing!

After doing loads of research and reading, I discovered a medication and supplement that is helping with Long COVID. This book, in particular, was extremely helpful. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33516728-the-lady-s-handbook-for-her-mysterious-illness

I am now taking low-dose Naltrexone and it’s helped with the pain and fatigue. I’ve found that Magtein helps with headaches/brain fog, too.

It’s been a humbling experience because I’ve always been able to push through anything. With long COVID, pushing through only exacerbates everything. I’ve profoundly learned how to accept things I can’t change. I’ve had to trust and let go of control more than I ever have in my life.

My outlook has grown ever deeper in compassion, understanding, and forgiveness. I see how things can happen beyond our control and there isn’t a thing we can do to change it. I’m so over the rah-rah personal development/spirituality where there’s this view that you can overcome anything with the right mindset. That’s so untrue. A positive attitude helps, but it’s only a tool, not a cure-all.

I’m venturing out into the world again. So far I’ve managed to not get covid again even after being exposed twice. I can’t hide away in my bubble forever, so here I go. I will try new things and see where they take me. But I will wear an N95 mask and a renewed sense of compassion, kindness, trust, faith, and hope. ♡
